The Y A N A™ Journal | Formaldehyde Resin

Some ingredients have long been used to shape how nail products wear and perform.
Formaldehyde resin, often listed as tosylamide/formaldehyde resin, is an ingredient that has been used in nail products to help polish set and hold its shape.
In traditional nail polish formulations, it contributed to a harder finish, helping the polish stay in place longer without breaking down as quickly.
While it is different from pure formaldehyde, it is still part of broader ingredient conversations due to its origin and the potential for sensitivity in some individuals — and for this reason, it is not included in our formulations.
We focus instead on building formulas that maintain strength and wear through alternative ingredients aligned with our clean-care philosophy.
Every Y A N A™ formula is designed for lasting wear, a smooth finish, and a more intentional approach to nail care.
Clean.Conscious.Nail Lacquer
That is the Y A N A™ Standard.
