Understanding Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) is a plasticizer historically used in nail products to improve flexibility within a formula. In traditional nail polish formulations, it helped reduce brittleness, allowing the film to remain flexible and more resistant to cracking or chipping.
As conversations around ingredient safety have evolved, DBP has become part of broader discussions surrounding long-term exposure within beauty products. For this reason, it is not included in our formulations.
Instead, we focus on building formulas that maintain flexibility and durability through alternative ingredients aligned with our clean-care philosophy.
Every Y A N A™ formula reflects a more intentional approach to nail care — one that prioritizes balance, clarity, and long-term consideration.
Clean.Conscious.Nail Lacquer
That is the Y A N A™ Standard.
